An agitation tank is only as good as the match between the vessel, the agitator, and the product going into it. Watson builds all three together. Our engineers size the tank, select the impeller and drive, and design the mount and internals around how your product behaves, whether the job is keeping solids in suspension, forming an emulsion, or blending in batch or continuous runs. The result is uniform product without dead zones, burn-on, or a motor working harder than it should.
Every agitation tank is stainless steel and built to your specification. Shop-built tanks run up to 180 inches in diameter and 70,000 gallons; larger vessels are built on your site by our field fabrication crew. Average lead time from purchase order to ship is 20 to 24 weeks, and we will tell you where your project falls when we quote it.
AGITATORS WE DESIGN AND BUILD
Watson designs and builds its own agitators, so the agitator is part of the tank design from the first drawing rather than a catalog unit bolted on at the end. For tanks of any size we build:
- Top-entry axial turbine agitators for general blending and solids suspension
- Scrape-surface agitators for viscous or heat-sensitive products that would otherwise build up on a jacketed wall
- Sweep-surface agitators for full-volume movement in thick, high-solids batches
Agitators pair with heating and cooling jackets, sanitary finishes, and clean-in-place connections, all integrated at the factory. If you already own a tank, we can design and install an agitation system for it. See Agitation Systems for agitators sold on their own.
